CJ René is a queer writer and performer from Texas who calls Brooklyn home, even when she spends half her life on the road. Her stories range from horror to fantasy to literary. Her story The Gardener’s Rose will be published September 2022 in Bards and Sages’ Society for Misfit Stories. Prior works include An Ineffective Devil (Crooked/Shift) and The Outing (Winner of Best Fiction in Kalyani Magazine’s Write to Roar Contest 2014). In her non-writing time, she works as an attorney, travels extensively, and creates and performs in experimental or other works. She can think of nothing more human than telling each other stories.
